Office Depot, OfficeMax claim brand-new computers are infected by malware to sell useless removal services

Office Depot and OfficeMax have both been caught using diagnosis software that claims brand-new PCs are infected with malware, then offering to charge consumers $150 to $200 to remove it. Analysis of the same systems by independent third parties has found zero evidence of any malware.
