Intel wants to kill the 3.5mm audio jack, replace with USB-C
Intel is reportedly working on extensions to USB-C that would kill the venerable 3.5mm headphone jack. Digital audio could improve smartphone design in a number of ways, but there are costs and drawbacks as well.
